Firstly it's a smaller and more cost effective unit.
Mistercade in MiSTer is an open project that aims to recreate various classic computers, game consoles and arcade machines, using modern hardware.
It allows software and game images to run as they would on original hardware, using peripherals such as mice, keyboards, joysticks and other game controllers. At the moment, it’s still a device that requires “tinkering” to configure, but it’s no more difficult than setting up a Raspberry Pi. There were some FPGA computer clones already, but Till Harbaum's MiST stood out as the cheapest (about $220) and had very convenient USB ports for keyboards and gamepads.
Equipment full assembled, includes original DE10-nano Box and is ready to plug and play! Memory module compatible with new CPS 1.

The two systems are actually quite similar since MiSTer is based on the original MiST system.Arrow SoCKit sharing the same ARM/FPGA core design like DE10 Nano / Standard / DE1-SoC boards, but the main difference is that Arrow SoCKit does not have built-in SDRAM and having 2x 1GB DDR ram.The MiSTer FPGA project has been one of the most exciting things in retro gaming. This is a safe place to drool, oogle, pine, and generally FPGA & Retro Gaming Shop Showing 1–8 of 42 results MiSTer is a port of well known MiST project to a larger FPGA and faster ARM.
